About the role

We seek a highly motivated and passionate agriculture underwriter with hands-on experience in agriculture insurance/reinsurance or related fields to join our Agriculture Reinsurance Team in Singapore. You will support underwriting activities across Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, ANZ, and the Indian subcontinent, including costing and pricing of treaties and facultative business, and developing new agricultural schemes in collaboration with internal and external partners. Depending on experience, this role may be positioned at VP level.

Key responsibilities:

• Contribute to the global agriculture portfolio strategy, focusing on identifying and originating new opportunities in responsible markets.
• Perform high-quality underwriting, costing, and pricing of agricultural reinsurance, including renewals and new deals, aligned with Swiss Re's guidelines and best practices.
• Develop new agricultural insurance schemes, including product design, pricing, and policy wording, in collaboration with private and public sector partners. Develop skills in index-based insurance solutions.
• Maintain and develop relationships with clients and stakeholders, playing a key role in portfolio management.
• Manage relationships with insurers, brokers, and government entities, collaborating with relevant teams.
• Contribute to technical and market studies, publications, and provide training and consulting services.
• Engage in data analytics, management, and analysis of agricultural market data.
• Handle pricing and claims data for business planning and execution.
• Oversee the end-to-end underwriting process, including contract administration and budgeting, in collaboration with support teams.

About You

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in insurance or reinsurance underwriting, actuarial, or pricing; knowledge of agriculture business in Asia is advantageous.
