Job summary

HSBC is seeking a Trust Advisory Manager to lead fiduciary risk management and regulatory compliance for TFS structures in a dynamic, private client-focused environment. Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor fiduciary risks, regulatory and tax compliance, and implement controls for TFS-managed structures.
  • Track and assess legal, regulatory, and tax changes impacting TFS business across jurisdictions, escalating risks as needed.
  • Drive timely closure of fiduciary, regulatory, and tax issues through action plans and escalate where required.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (including IT, transformation, and risk stewards) to design and implement solutions for regulatory, fiduciary, and tax obligations.
  • Act as SME for trust technical matters with private client tax exposure; review onboarding and restructuring cases, and provide advisory input for timely decisions.
  • Review and sign off on external legal, regulatory, or tax advice; support responses to regulatory consultations.
  • Develop relationships with regulators, tax offices, and external advisors; deliver training and updates to front office teams; draft client communications and governance papers.

Trust Advisory Manager
In this role you will:
  • Manage and monitor fiduciary risks, regulatory and tax compliance, and implement appropriate controls for TFS-managed structures.
  • Track and assess legal, regulatory, and tax changes impacting TFS business in relevant jurisdictions, escalating risks as necessary.
  • Drive timely closure of identified fiduciary, regulatory, and tax issues through agreed action plans, tracking actions to completion and escalating where required.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (including IT, transformation, and risk stewards) to design and implement solutions for regulatory, fiduciary, and tax obligations.
  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for trust technical matters with private client tax exposure (or strong private client tax expertise with demonstratable trust knowledge) , reviewing onboarding and restructuring cases, providing pragmatic advisory input to enable timely decisions, and ensuring policy compliance.
  • Review and sign off on external legal, regulatory, or tax advice, and support responses to regulatory or industry consultations.
  • Develop relationships with regulators, tax offices, and external advisors; deliver technical training and updates to front office teams; draft client communications and governance papers.
To be successful you will need:
  • Proven experience advising on or administering trusts, with working knowlege of private client tax issues (or proven private client tax experience with demonstratable trust exposure).
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to interpret new legislation and assess business impact; attention to detail and organisational skills.
