Job Summary:
Treasury Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day treasury operations in Ethiopia, including cash flow planning, bank relationship management, payments processing, and compliance with internal treasury policies and local regulatory requirements.
What you will be responsible for:
Cash & Liquidity Management
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow forecasts in both local and foreign currencies.
- Ensure optimal utilization of available funds across local and international bank accounts.
- Monitor daily bank balances and report discrepancies.
Banking Operations
- Coordinate with local banks for account openings, transactions, KYC updates, and documentation.
- Manage foreign currency requests, conversions, and remittance procedures in line with Ethiopian regulations.
Treasury Compliance
- Ensure all treasury activities comply with internal controls, audit requirements, and local financial regulations (e.g., foreign exchange control, repatriation procedures).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the National Bank of Ethiopia's policies on capital controls, FX, and cross-border transactions.
Reporting & Reconciliation
- Prepare periodic treasury reports, including cash positions, fund utilization, and FX exposures.
- Support monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies with finance and banks.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with procurement, accounting, and project teams to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Serve as the point of contact for banking-related inquiries and support internal/external audits.
How you will stand out:- Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CA or equivalent certification is a plus).
- 3-6 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of Ethiopian banking regulations and foreign exchange controls.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Knowledge of English and Amharic is required
- Knowledge of other local languages is advantageous
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
