Based in Singapore, Shiseido Travel Retail is Shiseido’s global duty-free business which specializes in accelerating the growth of Shiseido’s brands to travellers and includes operations in airports, downtown stores, border shops, airlines, and ferries. Our portfolio includes skincare brands SHISEIDO, Clé de Peau Beauté, IPSA, ANESSA, THE GINZA, Drunk Elephant, and ELIXIR; makeup brand NARS; and fragrance brands narciso rodriguez and ISSEY MIYAKE PARFUMS.

MAIN PURPOSE

As a key member of the Travel Retail team, the Retail Manager owns the designated account’s total business, focused on maximizing sales productivity, gaining market share and growing the region’s business. He/She is accountable for the counter’s daily operations and the performance of the field staff, leading and driving actions that aim at delivering a best-in-industry retail experience for our consumers and customers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Sell-out

  • Set and achieve retail sales targets to drive improvement in store ranking and market share.
  • Sales Reporting: Provide timely sales reports and analysis as required, making recommendations and flagging risks. Formulate action plans to mitigate identified risks.
  • Maximise sales opportunities by periodic review of customer profiles, M.O.B. per location, trends, etc. to determine optimal product assortment, TREX mix, GWP/sampling, training needs, and marketing promos & events to drive sales.
  • Events: Own the account’s promotions and events; partner with Marketing and Education teams for best-in-class execution.
  • Keep abreast of and provides information on competitor activities, making recommendations to boost sales.

Store

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage stock levels and communication. Partner with Marketing, Supply Chain, and Education Teams to resolve and manage issues.
  • Merchandising Excellence & Counter Upkeep: Supervise and coach BCs to ensure all product displays and merchandising adheres to the Brand’s VM guidelines and planogram; print materials and tools are relevant and available; testers, lighting, signage, and all other elements of the counter always convey Brand’s prestige image.
  • Nurture strong business partnerships with our retail partners’ store management team

Staff

  • Overall responsibility for the recruitment, onboarding, performance, and evaluation of BCs and Airport Coordinators for high performance, growth, and future roles.
  • Partner Education Team to build capabilities and ensure the training needs of BCs are met.
  • Ensure every BC is an ambassador of the brand they represent by coaching and providing feedback to them on service behaviors that drive Retail Excellence.
  • Nurture a One Shiseido team culture and BC ownership of their counter’s business.
  • Partner with Retailers and Education Team to motivate, recognize and incentivize BCs for greater retention & performance.

Administration

  • PO management
  • POSM, tester, GWPs, counter tools ordering and management
  • BC Data Management: Ensures the accuracy of BC data.
  • BC uniform distribution
  • Support Area Sales Manager with sell-in, pricing info, and validation

REQUIREMENTS

  • Recognized university degree or equivalent tertiary education.
  • Min. 5 years relevant experience in retail store management and operations will be preferred.
  • Sales driven, analytical, and meticulous with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong hands-on organizational skills, problem solver with a strong sense of accountability
  • Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and enjoys interacting with various groups of people.
  • Mature, independent with a strong sense of accountability and passion for growth
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities and thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Require travel of up to 40% of time.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, esp. Excel & PowerPoint.
