Job Summary
As a Transportation Program Manager, under Asia Transportation, the role is to focus on enhancing transportation operations by analyzing current Asia processes and implementing strategies to boost efficiency, reduce cost, and improve operations excellence and service quality. This role is integral in fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the transportation team in the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Analysis and Optimization: Evaluate current Asia existing transportation workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas of improvement. Develop and implement solutions to streamline operations and eliminate waste as well as improving our sustainability program.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional projects aimed at process improvement, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze transportation data to identify trends, measure performance, and support decision-making processes.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including logistics, planning, Intercompany operations, and country operations, to implement improvement initiatives and ensure cohesive efforts across the organization.
- Training and Coaching: Support training and coaching the countries team on continuous improvement methodologies, such as lean and six sigma, to build internal capabilities and promote culture of continuous improvement and enhancement.
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
In this role, you will drive transformational change across Asia Transportation operations together with APAC Network Operations Centre team by identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvement that directly reduce costs and enhance total transportation service quality. Your impact is multifaceted:
- Operational Efficiency: You streamline processes to eliminate waste and improve productivity, leading to performance delivery lead times and most reliable service.
- Cost Reduction: By optimizing routes together with the NOC team, understanding loads, and cost allocation, you will significantly lower transportation operating expenses and contribute to the organization cost savings targets.
- Data-Drive Decisions: Using robust data analysis, you are able to identify trends and areas for improvement, which supports key strategic decision-making and long-term planning.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Your role involves working closely with Network Operating Centre team, global logistics, plants, supply chain, and country transportation operations teams, ensuring improvement initiatives are aligned and sustainable.
- Culture Transformation: By training and mentoring continuous improvement cultures within the teams in Lean Culture, and other continuous improvement methodologies, you foster a culture of ongoing excellence and innovation.
Your Skills and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or related field.
- Min 8 yrs program management experience that drive the operational efficiency and key operational metrics in Asia.
- Experience in process improvement within transportation operations, with a strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.
- Strong Analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets to inform strategic decisions and process enhancement.
- Experience in managing cross functional groups and leading APAC countries.
- Strong Communication Skills in verbal and written communication abilities to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Project management, with experience in managing projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring savings and improvement initiatives.
- Ability to perform presentations with clear communication skills to senior leadership if required.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Proven track record as a self-starter and independent worker.
- Proven experience in logistics systems (SAP, ERP, TMS, WMS).
- Knowledge in Microsoft office tools (e.g. excel and power point).
- Intermediary Power platforms knowledge (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
- Experience with project management tools and agile methodology.
- Experience in business requirement gathering for technical/analytics project work.
- Knowledge of statistical methods (e.g. Regression Models, Decision Trees, etc.).
- Ability to manage complex, matrixed situations across multiple organizational layers and geographies.
- Demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: analytics capacity, leadership, interpersonal skills, proactive and self-learning, influencing skills, change management, and process improvement methodology.
This role is pivotal in driving transportation excellence within Asia Transportation functions across 12 countries.
Travel: May include up to 10-20%
