Job Description

The Asia Pacific Transportation Manager is an integral member of the Rockwell Logistics Teams and directs the daily work of transportation functions. You will ensure the monthly financial performance is met, variances are identified and addressed. Additionally, you will lead compliance to all existing processes, pursue continuous improvement opportunities, and align with Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Materials to meet and improve transportation needs.

You will report to the Director of Logistics, Global Operations.

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Develop a high-performing team of Planners and Analysts.
  2. Manage the team in accordance with Rockwell guidelines and recommendations.
  3. Manage Asia domestic trade lanes, ensuring predictability, cost competitiveness, and compliance with regulations.
  4. Oversee relationships with domestic service providers, developing standard QBRs and performance monitoring.
  5. Champion improvement projects with providers and business partners through collaboration and stakeholder alignment.
  6. Lead daily tactical and transactional functions for the transportation team, including routing guide adherence, shipment scheduling, transit time reporting, and cost performance reporting.
  7. Communicate shipment performance effectively.
  8. Serve as an escalation point for operational issues and guide resolutions.
  9. Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements for cost savings and service enhancements.
  10. Ensure daily operations are executed with excellence, implement process improvements, and monitor performance.
  11. Represent transportation in cross-functional projects to support process changes and upgrades.
  12. Oversee financial budgeting, causals, and re-forecasting with appropriate detail.
  13. Collaborate with global peers and centers of excellence to foster a global mindset.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the posting countries; no sponsorship available.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • MBA degree.
  • Ten years of experience in the transportation industry with increasing responsibilities, including at least three years in a supervisory role and international transportation exposure.
  • Understanding of warehouse, demand planning, customer service, sourcing, and other supply chain functions.
  • Proven track record of leading cost-saving projects and implementing process improvements.
  • Experience with advanced supply chain techniques and leading-edge logistics practices.
  • Leadership skills in team building, collaboration, accountability, and strategic thinking.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills across distributed organizations.
  • Service orientation and results-driven mindset.
  • Industry expertise in people, organizations, and functions to build a best-in-class transportation team.
