Job Purpose

The appointee will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day transport services provided at GESS. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role involves advising on transport matters and serving as the first contact for parents and staff regarding transport queries and concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Transport Service Management:
    • Manage daily operations of the school transport service with providers
    • Collaborate to optimize routes using the online transport system
    • Ensure safe transportation for students during daily and extracurricular activities
    • Ensure compliance with government transportation regulations
    • Address pastoral and discipline issues on buses, maintaining records
    • Conduct regular meetings with service providers and report on transport utilization
    • Perform safety checks and update the online system accordingly
  2. Communication:
    • Respond promptly to inquiries from parents, students, staff, and external bodies
    • Handle complaints professionally
    • Coordinate with school leadership on late arrivals and missed buses
    • Maintain transport information on websites and portals
    • Report safeguarding concerns as necessary
  3. Procurement and Resources:
    • Assist in preparing and evaluating transport tenders
    • Verify bus bookings before financial processing
  4. General Responsibilities:
    • Perform other duties to support the transport service
    • Work flexible hours as needed
    • Maintain professionalism and punctuality
Knowledge and Experience
  • Experience in transportation coordination, preferably in education or logistics
  • Familiarity with scheduling software and management tools
  • Experience managing drivers and support staff
  • Recordkeeping skills and knowledge of legal requirements
  • Conflict resolution skills
Technical and Soft Skills
  • Experience with school management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication skills
