Job summary

A leading medical institution in Singapore is seeking a Transplant Coordinator to manage the transplant process for pediatric patients. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team and have opportunities for professional development in transplant-specific areas. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Nursing, Psychology or Life/Health Sciences and strong communication skills. Experience in Transplant or Paediatrics is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Transplant, Paediatrics, Cardiothoracic nursing or Operating Theatre is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with delicate situations.
  • Willing to perform on-call duties on a rotational basis.

Overview

As a Transplant Coordinator in SingHealth Duke-NUS Transplant Centre, you will be part of the multidisciplinary team that plays a pivotal role in supporting the transplant process for paediatric patients at KK Women's and Children's Hospital. You will collaborate closely with established adult transplant programme to adapt, identify and apply best practices to address the unique needs of paediatric patients.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include managing patients registered on the National Transplant Registry and maintaining records in the National Transplant Registry System (NTRS). In this role, you will have opportunities to enhance your clinical knowledge in specialised areas including transplant medicine, surgical procedures, human physiology and organ-specific anatomies. Through structured training and mentorship, you will build expertise in transplant-specific protocols, common ailments and chronic diseases affecting transplant patients, and develop comprehensive understanding of organ donation legislation. This position offers continuous professional development in a dynamic transplant setting. The role involves ordering and basic interpretation of diagnostic and laboratory tests. You will participate in an on-call rotation to support the transplant process.

Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, along with dedication to delivering patient and family-centred care throughout the transplant journey. You will support the Organ Donation Oversight Committee as a transplant advocate and assist in organ donation initiatives to raise awareness among internal and external stakeholders.
