Job description

We are looking for a dedicated Welfare Officer to support our Malaysian trainees undergoing industrial attachment and work-study programmes in Singapore. You will play a key role in ensuring their emotional, logistical, and workplace well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic counselling, motivation, and encouragement to trainees during their stay

  • Mediate between trainees and workplace or school on performance or welfare issues

  • Coordinate with employers and academic teams on trainee concerns

  • Source and secure safe and affordable accommodation for trainees

  • Arrange onboarding support (e.g. airport pick-up, workplace familiarisation)

  • Accompany and orientate trainees during their initial arrival in Singapore

  • Provide ongoing housing and well-being support throughout their stay

  • Maintain clear communication with the trainee, sponsor company, and education team

  • Maintain records of welfare cases and follow-up actions

Job Requirements

  • Passion for working with youth or early-career individuals

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Empathetic, patient, and solution-oriented

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (Bahasa Malaysia is a plus)

  • Willing to travel within Singapore regularly

  • Familiarity with Singapore housing market (a bonus but not required)

  • Background in HR, education, youth counselling, or social work is advantageous
