Role Overview

As a Junior Trainee Ship Broker, you will work closely with experienced brokers and gain hands-on experience in the ship brokerage industry. You will be trained to handle various aspects of the brokering process for chemical tankers, including market research, client interaction, and contract negotiation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist senior brokers in managing and developing relationships with clients and ship owners
2. Conduct market research and analysis on chemical tanker freight rates and industry trends
3. Support the negotiation and drafting of chartering contracts
4. Coordinate communication between ship owners, charterers, and agents
5. Develop and maintain up-to-date market knowledge for chemical tanker operations
6. Assist with administrative tasks and general office support as required

1. A degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping, or related fields
2. Strong interest in the chemical tanker sector and the maritime industry
3. Excellent communication and negotiation skills
4. Ability to work well under pressure and in a team-oriented environment
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
6. Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
