Job summary

Vitol’s Product Control Analyst role supports the trading desk by maintaining accurate position summaries and monitoring trader exposures. The role includes consolidating data for the trading matrix and ensuring documentation of exposures.

The candidate will provide daily P&L commentary, create reporting for traders, and participate in shared projects such as new business setups and MIS/IT collaboration, requiring strong numerical skills and market awareness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of Middle Office work experience in a trading house.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Strong proficiency working with numbers and large data sets.
• Good proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Python is desirable.
• Good understanding of the oil industry and/or financial markets is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day running of the trading desk; maintain detailed position summaries for traders and the matrix.
• Provide commentary on daily profitability reports explaining P&L movements; understand P&L and market data.
• Create management information and reports for traders; undertake trading, market, or other modeling and analysis.
• Assist with rolling storage and internal projects; support setup of new business and collaboration with MIS/IT teams.
