Job description

This energy giant leads the region in oil and gas production, operating an extensive network of exploration, refining, petrochemical and retail operations across Asia and globally. The company is seeking a Crude Analyst to strengthen its analytics and decision-making capabilities in the evolving energy landscape.

Role

The role centers on conducting rigorous analysis of global energy markets, with emphasis on energy transformation trends and their impact on fundamentals. The successful candidate will develop and implement quantitative modeling methods for supply/demand analysis and scenario planning, while supporting strategy formulation through comprehensive market monitoring and policy analysis. Key deliverables include producing research reports with original insights, maintaining analytical tools and databases, and creating compelling presentations that synthesize findings for stakeholder decision-making.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years experience in crude oil trading, demonstrating strong understanding of global oil markets and their fundamental drivers. Technical requirements include proficiency in Excel and VBA (Python is desirable), alongside experience with tools like Tableau, Alteryx, and SPSS for handling large datasets. The position demands excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven ability to improve processes and models, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced trading environment.
