Job description

The Asia Fixed Income Trade role involves executing trades in fixed income securities and foreign exchange markets, aligning with the firm's investment strategies and ensuring best execution practices. The position requires continuous monitoring of global financial markets, economic indicators, and geopolitical developments to identify trading opportunities and inform decision-making. Collaboration with portfolio managers, research analysts, and other stakeholders is essential to align trading activities with overall portfolio objectives. The role also emphasizes adherence to risk management guidelines and regulatory requirements while contributing to the enhancement of trading systems and processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Execute trades in fixed income securities and foreign exchange markets, following the firm’s investment strategies and ensuring best execution practices.
  • Utilize a variety of trading platforms and tools to efficiently place and manage trades.
  • Continuously monitor global financial markets, economic indicators, and geopolitical developments to identify trends and potential trading opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market data to inform trading strategies and decision-making.
  • Work closely with portfolio managers and research analysts to align trading activities with overall portfolio objectives and strategies.
  • Participate in strategy meetings to provide insights and recommendations based on market conditions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, dealers, and other market participants to ensure access to liquidity and timely market information.
  • Adhere to the firm’s risk management guidelines and regulatory requirements to mitigate potential trading risks.
  • Conduct pre-trade and post-trade analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of trading strategies and execution quality.
  • Prepare detailed reports on trading activity, market conditions, and portfolio performance for review by senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all trading activities comply with internal policies and external regulations, including those set by financial authorities and industry standards.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of trading systems, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Stay informed about technological advancements and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading function.
  • Collaborate with other team members, as well as other global/regional traders, sharing knowledge and expertise to foster a collaborative learning environment.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for professional development to stay abreast of market trends and enhance trading skills.

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CFA designation is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fixed income trading or a related financial markets role. Experience in the Asia markets is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of executing trades in fixed income securities and foreign exchange markets.
