What you'll do:

As an Assistant Vice President Trade Settlements based in Singapore, you will immerse yourself in a multifaceted operations role where your ability to manage complex settlement processes will be crucial. Your daily responsibilities will span from processing settlements for various financial instruments—including syndicated loans, bilateral loans, bonds, deposits, remittances, derivatives, and treasury products—to supporting account setups in payment systems. You will be responsible for monitoring payments closely, capturing detailed trade information accurately into internal platforms, and reconciling cashflows through effective liaison with transaction administrators. Your collaborative approach will see you working hand-in-hand with both internal colleagues and external partners such as custodians or clearing houses to resolve any settlement discrepancies swiftly. In addition to these core duties, you will have the chance to participate in system testing initiatives and contribute ideas for process improvements or automation projects. Success in this position requires not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills—enabling you to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders while maintaining high standards of accuracy under tight deadlines.

  • Process settlements for loan disbursements, treasury trades, sales and purchase transactions with meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support the setup of accounts within payment systems by coordinating with relevant stakeholders and maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Monitor payment timelines diligently by tracking receipts and following up on non-receipts until closure is achieved for all transactions.
  • Capture trade details including loan profiles, schedules, and cashflows into relevant systems while ensuring data integrity at every step.
  • Liaise effectively with Transaction Administrators to reconcile cashflow schedules and monitor ongoing settlement activities for completeness.
  • Work collaboratively with counterparties, custodians, clearing houses, banks, and internal teams to address trade settlement issues such as payment discrepancies or exceptions.
  • Participate actively in system testing initiatives as well as other ad-hoc tasks that support operational excellence within the department.
  • Contribute to the fine-tuning and development of procedures and work processes aimed at improving efficiency and reducing operational risk.
  • Engage in projects related to system enhancements or process automation that drive productivity gains across the operations function.

What you bring:

To excel as an Assistant Vice President Trade Settlements you will bring proven experience from an operations or settlements background within banking or financial services—ideally having worked across multiple product types such as syndicated loans bonds deposits remittances derivatives or treasury instruments. Your understanding of financial market structures trade lifecycles settlement frameworks SWIFT messaging protocols custody accounts and leading settlement platforms will enable you to navigate complex transactions confidently. Beyond technical know-how your success hinges on your ability to collaborate empathetically with colleagues clients custodians clearing houses banks transaction administrators—ensuring open lines of communication even when resolving challenging issues. Your keen eye for detail allows you to spot inconsistencies quickly while your methodical approach ensures nothing slips through the cracks during reconciliation or data capture activities.   • Demonstrate familiarity with syndicated loans, bilateral loans, bonds, deposits, remittances, derivatives, treasury products as well as associated settlement frameworks.
  • Showcase practical knowledge of SWIFT messaging systems alongside trade settlement platforms such as ClearPar DTCC Euroclear or Clearstream plus custody account management.
  • Exhibit exceptional attention to detail combined with problem-solving agility when addressing operational challenges or resolving discrepancies.
  • Display excellent interpersonal skills supported by clear written and verbal communication abilities that foster collaboration across teams.
