JOB DESCRIPTION


Are you ready to excel in Trade Finance Operations? As a Document Checker Associate, you'll play a crucial role in handling trade finance processing functions for the Singapore market. As a Document Checker Associate within the Trade Finance Operations team, you will be an integral part of our trade finance operations. You will have the opportunity to handle trade finance related processing functions in a global bank environment for the Singapore market. You will be working closely with both internal and external clients, and your ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team will be key to your success in this role.

Job responsibilities:
  1. Import and/or export document checking with minimum supervision.
  2. Communicate trade related commercial rules and be able to provide solutions or explanations to clients in relation to UCP 600, ISBP, ISP98, URR725, URC522, or Incoterms 2010.
  3. Highlight irregularities and red flag items for credit/risks approval.
  4. Handle and check commodities Letter of Credits and documents.
  5. Prepare reports for various internal stakeholders.
  6. Liaise with external and internal customers and perform any ad-hoc requests as directed by the manager.
  7. Understand the flow of import/export transactions across different functions & products e.g., Letter of Credit advising, document checking, acceptance, reimbursement claim, and payment.
  8. Utilize trade processing systems to process transactions with multiple tasks, handling them with minimum supervision.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • At least Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in bills and documents checking within Trade Finance Operations.
  • Resourceful and able to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external clients.
  • Good understanding of industry practices and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and a quick learner of various trade applications/systems.
  • Fluency in English is required, as it is the primary language of our global company.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Prior experience within the Financial Services industry is highly preferred.
  • Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialist is advantageous.
