Job summary

A global drilling company in Singapore is seeking a Trade Finance Executive to manage all aspects of trade financing, including import/export documentation and Letter of Credit transactions. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with regulations, negotiate terms, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. A Bachelor's degree in Finance & Accounting and at least 5 years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in application of UCP600, ISBP, URR725, ISP98 and commodity trading Incoterms.
  • At least 5 years of Commodity Trade Finance experience.
  • Good knowledge on trade finance, Incoterms, trade operations, risk, and hedging.

Job description

The Trade Finance Executive will be managing imports and export documentation, Letter of Credit (LC) confirmation and amendments, reviewing underlying contracts, bank negotiation, serving as key link between operators and banks, trade finance negotiations, daily funding needs, maintaining compliance, identify discrepancies, and resolve trade financing issues.


Roles & Responsibilities


Job Responsibilities


  • Work closely with traders and operation team on all trade finance-related matters.
  • Manage and negotiate Letters of Credit (LC) formats with counterparties and ensure

the accuracy and timely processing of LC/SBLC transactions (e.g., issuance,

amendments, acceptance).

  • Pre-check documents (e.g., invoices, LOI, and other documents) according to the terms

and conditions of the export LC.

  • Advise necessary amendments/revisions to ensure workability of all trade finance

instruments

  • Review contracts and provide feedback on trade finance-related matters.
  • Monitor payments and resolve outstanding payment issues with counterparties.
  • Work closely with internal (i.e., traders and treasury) and external stakeholders (i.e.,

banks and counterparties) to identify opportunities to reduce working capital.

  • Optimize the allocation of banking resources across various banks, ensuring effective

tracking and utilization.

  • Assist with facility renewals, account openings, and other operational tasks as required.
  • Manage reporting for all trade finance activities.
  • Monitoring the daily financing needs for the Company's trading activities and provide

backup support for cash management.

  • Working and maintaining relations with our key financing banks and internal

stakeholders; Assisting in the structuring of prepayments and project financing

structures.

  • Ensure that regulatory, bank's policies, guidelines, controls, and compliance

requirements are adhered to identify documentary discrepancies, transaction

exceptions and/or non-compliance with regulations and escalate them to the relevant

parties for resolution.

  • Any ad hoc duties assigned by immediate superior/management.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance & Accounting or equivalent.
  • Proficient in application of UCP600, ISBP, URR725, ISP98 and commodity trading

Incoterms

  • Mature, ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced

environments.

  • Good knowledge on trade finance, Incoterms, trade operations, risk, and hedging
  • At least 5 years of Commodity Trade Finance experience.
