Job description

Responsibilities

  • To lead acquisition of new to bank clients with focus on Trade Finance customers and growing the bank’s trade finance business, including letters of credit, supply chain finance, receivables financing and export LC discounting
  • Originate, structure and execute Structured Trade Finance transactions with focus on specific industry sectors such as Food & Agribusiness, Energy, Chemicals, Metals & Minerals including opportunistic transactions that meet the risk criteria of the bank
  • Develop tailored solutions to meet the complex needs of mid to large-cap corporates, focusing on structured trade and commodity finance
  • Formulate and implement strategies for delivery of the bank’s trade finance products to targeted trade and commodity clients to achieve sales and revenue goals
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the BEA overseas branches including Head Office and following up deal pipelines thoroughly to ensure professional client feedback and efficient pipeline conversion
  • Provide mentorship to junior team members and work closely with trade operations for trade finance product structuring and ensure timely execution of transactions

Requirements

  • University degree in Accountancy, Business, Economics or other similar degrees
  • More than 10 years’ of relevant experience in Banking
  • Existing client relationships and networks within the trade finance ecosystem
  • Strong knowledge of commodity trade finance products and practices, with expertise in structuring complex deals
  • In depth knowledge and experience in the commodity financing industry; prior experience of managing Singapore based commodity traders will be an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of local and international trade regulations, guidelines, best practices governing Trade Finance business
  • Communicate effectively in both spoken and written language
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented, with a strong business acumen
