Job summary

A global technology company in Singapore is looking for an expert in export controls. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree, proficiency in English and Chinese, and at least three years of experience with U.S. and EU regulations. You will handle government authorizations and coordinate technology licenses, requiring strong communication and leadership skills. This role demands on-site work at least four days a week and offers a permanent position.

Job description
Role & Responsibilities

Maintain applicable government authorizations and registrations.

Act as a subject matter expert (SME) regarding export control and related regulations.

Provide guidance to resolve concerns with business partners, destinations, or end uses.

Provide guidance to resolve complex export control classification (including NTI/NPI programs) or licensing determinations.

Coordinate efforts to secure technology licenses for employees.

Lead cross-functional efforts related to establishing export control policy, positions, and global standards.

Contribute to the content development for export control training.

Apply functional expertise and project leadership on major initiatives involving exports and compliance with export control, sanctions, and related trade regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or above.

At least three (3) years of in-depth knowledge and experience with U.S., EU, and other international export control and sanctions regulations, including experience liaising with relevant government authorities.

Experience working with multinational companies with complex supply chains handling economic sanctions and export controls compliance.

Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel functionality, experienced PowerPoint user)

Fluent in English and Chinese.

Additional qualifications that could help the applicant further succeed in the role include:

Experience working in a government capacity, law firm, or consultant position to support export controls and sanctions compliance.

People management expertise or experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and ability to influence executive stakeholders.

Experience with different application tools (e.g., SAP, GTS, SharePoint, Office 365, Visual Compliance).

A desire to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Ability to work independently and communicate clearly and effectively with their team, management, Legal, and business teams.

Curious and innovative in approach to leadership and execution of necessary goals.

This role has on-site working model, with the employee working at least 4 days per week in the 3M locations
