Job description

You will be a part of the larger Global Technology organization working on Nike's internal Consumer Product & Innovation tools and report to the team's Engineering Director. Your day-to-day tasks will involve collaborating with a team of engineers, the Product Manager, and Principal Engineers to work on software projects aimed at achieving Nike's business objectives. Additionally, you will engage with other Global Technology functions and teams to align on organizational and technical goals.We are looking for a thought leader who can lead, coach, and inspire a team of engineers. The ideal candidate should have a background in software engineering and modern software delivery principles. Knowledge in cloud-native architecture and microservice design is highly desirable.Your primary focus will be leading a team of engineers in developing tooling for internal Consumer Product & Innovation team members. This involves building modular, configurable, and API-First capabilities to be used by modern web applications developed with the latest SPA frameworks. You will need to collaborate with other teams, provide guidance and coaching to your team members, and foster a collaborative culture to enable quick problem-solving.Key Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, Information Systems, or relevant professional experience- Minimum 10 years of experience in technology and software engineering roles- Proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js- Hands-on experience with modern software architectural principles and patterns (e.g., REST, domain-driven design, microservices)- Familiarity with cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and related tools- Experience with AWS platform (Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, S3)- Experience in implementing AI, Machine Learning, and data solutions is preferred- Strong understanding of architectural design patterns and computer science fundamentals- Knowledge of open-source technologies and their impact on data movement, enrichment, workflow, and content management- Understanding of enterprise security and privacy requirements in the realm of technology- Proven track record of collaborating on cutting-edge technologies with Engineers and Architects- Background in working closely with business partners- Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to achieve ambitious goals- Excellent communication and facilitation skills- Proficiency in Agile software development methodology- Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills,
