Job description

As the Third Engineer, you will report directly to the Chief Engineer and fulfill your duties under his supervision. Your primary responsibility during watchkeeping duties will be the efficient operation of all machinery, pumps, valves, and systems within the Engine Room.It is essential for you to have a thorough understanding of control piping systems, valves, electrical, and hydraulic systems to ensure prompt and safe restoration of essential services in case of an emergency. Additionally, you must maintain a safe work environment and possess comprehensive knowledge of safety equipment and emergency procedures. Collaborating with the ship's Safety Officer, you will actively promote safety practices within the engineering function.Your tasks will also include preparing the main and auxiliary machinery for upcoming voyages, conducting tests on equipment alarms and shutdowns as per instructions provided.,
