Job summary

A community service organization in Singapore is seeking a therapy assistant to support therapists in conducting programs for patients. Responsibilities include assisting with activities, monitoring patient progress, and ensuring safety during sessions. COMPANY DESCRIPTION

  1. THKMC was incorporated on 13 October 2011 as a charity to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large, and achieved an Institute of Public Character (IPC) status on 18 November 2011. THKMC is the charitable arm of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, which lives by the mission - To Serve Mankind - to help anyone who needs help regardless of their race, religion, colour, language, creed and culture. THKMC today serves more than 70,000 beneficiaries through more than 70 programmes across five Services, which include Disability, Early Intervention for Children, Family, Seniors' Community, and Therapy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist therapist to conduct Occupational Therapy programmes;
  • Assist in conducting activities or adjust activities programmed by the therapist;
  • Take note of patients' progress and report progress to therapist via oral/verbal reports;
  • Assist therapist to carry out habilitative and rehabilitative work - orientated programmes;
  • Ensure that all approved programmes designed by therapist are being carried out as per planned;
  • Assist therapist to conduct activity groups for selected patients;
  • Ensure security of residents during sessions;
  • Assist therapist monitor/maintain order of equipment/material during sessions;
  • Undertake escort services; and
  • Produce a daily/weekly report to therapist in-charge on progress of patients and programmes
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimally certificate in Therapy Services
  • Diploma in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy will be a plus;
  • Preferably candidate with at least 1 yr of working experience
OTHER INFORMATION
  • Comfortable working with children and adults with multiple disabilities;
  • Able to perform rotating shift
  • Work location: Chai Chee / Sembawang / Eunos /Jurong East
