Position: Therapy Aide (OT/PT)
Responsibilities
  1. Provide client care and support therapy programs:
  • Assist Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Psychologists in conducting therapy sessions for residents (individual and group) under supervision.
  • Assist in assessing residents by providing feedback on their performance to the therapist.
  • Prepare residents, environment, and equipment for assessments or therapy sessions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of residents' conditions, progress, and care therapies.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of residents' attendance and progress notes on their performance and status daily.
  • Provide supervision or assistance to residents during mealtimes.
  • Assist residents with personal care activities such as toileting, bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring good hygiene at all times if necessary.
Maintain order, safety, and cleanliness of the care environment
  • Keep therapy areas and workplaces clean and safe.
  • Perform daily cleaning of resource materials and therapy rooms, with thorough cleaning once a month.
  • Ensure therapy equipment is maintained in a clean and functional condition.
  • Develop teaching materials as assigned by the therapist.
Manage care operations
  • Contribute to operational review meetings.
  • Participate in case management for residents.
  • Collaborate with other staff (e.g., nursing aides, PT trainers, OT trainers) in the daily routines of residents (e.g., physical exercises and feeding).
Stakeholder engagement
  • Assist in liaising with professionals, nursing teams, volunteers, hospitals, and other stakeholders involved in residents' care.
  • Provide insights on client needs to aid in care plan development with professionals and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update documentation for MSF licensing.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by your Reporting Officer.
Qualifications
  • Diploma in therapy services or equivalent.
  • WSQ Certificate in Healthcare Support (Nursing Care) / NITEC in Therapy Services or equivalent.
Other Information
  • Preferably 1-year relevant experience.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual, and/or developmental disabilities is preferred.
