Job summary

Dexian Asia Pacific seeks a Validation Engineer to validate SSDs through functional and automated tests, analyze failures, and refine test scripts and environments. You will work with Firmware engineers to resolve issues and contribute to ongoing firmware health monitoring in a lab that adheres to 6S standards.

You will also help set up test environments and systems for validation, tabulate results, and communicate project status while delivering regular updates on validation progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in computer/electrical/electronic engineering or related field.
• Experience with OS installation, system assembly and debugging of laptops/desktops is beneficial.
• Experience with using Oscilloscope and Bus Analyzer is beneficial.
• Basic working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux (e.g., Ubuntu).
• ESD-protected lab environment experience preferred.
• Programming knowledge in Python or C++ is advantageous.
• Knowledge of SSDs is beneficial.

Job description

Provide support in validating the new SSD under development. The responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

1.1. Perform functional testing on SSD through execution of tests (both automated and manual)

1.2. Perform initial failure analysis and work with Validation engineers to resolve test failures

1.3. Modification of functional test scripts to achieve targeted test coverage

1.4. Perform debug and evaluation towards resolution of issues with Firmware engineers.

1.5 Participate in setting up of test environment and servers in preparation for validation.

1.6 Tabulate test results and generate report for continuous firmware health monitoring.

Scope of Work

• Maintain 6S standard inside lab.
• Do black box testing of SSD on different laptop and desktop systems
• Setting up of test environment and systems in preparation for validation
• Update test plan and communicate project status on a regular basis

Qualifications and Skills

• Undergraduate in Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• Experience with OS installation, assembly and debug of laptop/desktop systems would be an advantage
• Experience with using Oscilloscope and Bus Analyzer will be beneficial
• Basic working knowledge with Windows and/or Linux OS like Ubuntu
• Comfortable working in an ESD-protected lab environment
• Programing knowledge on Python or C++ is an added advantage
• Knowledge on SSD will be beneficial
