KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE:

  • Provides technical, clinical, educational and sales support to ensure safe adoption and growth of Abbott Structural Heart Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) portfolio for SG and MY, Structural Intervention (SI) portfolio in Key Accounts SG, Cardiac Surgery (CS) portfolio in Key Accounts SG
  • The Territory Manager works closely with implanting teams, surgeons and the Abbott field organizations to drive procedural and practice success.
  • This role also encompasses leadership responsibilities, requiring the candidate to mentor, train, and oversee the team in both business operations and clinical training, ensuring excellence in execution and team development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical and Clinical Support:

  • Provide quality technical support to help sites achieve procedural success.
  • Provide technical support to Abbott Sales and implanting teams for TAVI & SI implant procedures in accordance with Abbott guidance.
  • Provide technical leadership for TAVI & SI device procedures.Educate implanting teams on proper indications for TAVI & SI procedures. Provide support on questions regarding device suitability with measuring ability and CT reconstruction expertise. Provide comprehensive technical support including knowledge of imaging modalities (echo/angiography/CT), EKG, blood pressure, wave forms, and ancillary procedural solutions.
  • Knowledge of Clinical trial protocols, and SI and TAVI product IFUs for safe and effective use of devices.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive clinical and technical product knowledge. Understands current published TAVI and SI relevant literature.

Educational Support:

  • Oversee local education and training activities including coordination and set up procedure simulators, facilitation of simulated TAVI procedures and procedural troubleshooting, and coordination and facilitation of staff in-services to include pre/peri/post TAVI & SI procedure.
  • Provide education on safe and effective use of Abbott products.
  • Educate/train hospital staff with proper valve loading instruction.
  • Supervise the team in organizing and facilitating procedural simulations, in-services, and training sessions.
  • Support and mentor team members to develop strong expertise in structural heart technologies

Leadership & Team Support:

  • Supervise and mentor the clinical and sales support team, ensuring alignment with Abbott’s business objectives.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance development to team members.
  • Act as a leader in the field to drive clinical excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Foster a collaborative team culture, ensuring a high-performance work environment.

Customer Service and Sales Support:

  • Support SEA Region sales strategy working with sales representatives and managers to achieve business plans within business unit and broader APAC organization. Contribute to the development of a strong team effort.
  • Ensure comprehensive technical and customer support within territory to maintain superior customer service levels and effective time management.
  • Assist with customer management of inventory ordering, shelf stock, and returns.
  • Participates in customer/society education meetings and conventions.
  • Respond to customer requests and resolve complaints in a prompt and effective manner.
  • Help drive and maintain quality initiatives and global best practice initiatives.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Handle and process customer feedback/complaints/product experience in timely manner and according to Abbott Medical Asia’s and Abbott Medical country’s policy and requirement
  • Execute the job responsibilities according to applicable standard operating procedures of Abbott Medical Asia and Abbott Medical Country Affiliate
  • Ensure applicable standard operating procedures of Abbott Medical Asia and Abbott Medical Country Affiliate are executed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Nursing, Life Sciences or related disciplines
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in medical device sales, preferably in medical imaging or implants
  • Important to have Structural heart Imaging interpretation experience (TTE or TEE, CT & Angiograms)
  • Exceptional understanding of cardiac and vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Experienced in communicating product’s market advantages to physicians and hospital administration.
  • Experienced with wires, balloons, catheters, stents will be plus.
  • Experienced in teaching and educating medical personnel, peers and technical support personnel.
  • Imaging interpretation experience (TTE or TEE, CT & Angiograms).
  • Excellent influencing and consulting skills in Medical cardiovascular
  • Strong project management skills with experience coordinating programs.
  • Thorough working knowledge of medical terminology, medical procedures and the medical device industry.
  • Effectively build and maintain positive relationships with peers and colleagues across organizational levels and functions.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE) to support cases in Cath Lab/Hybrid/OR.
