Job summary

Ministry of Defence of Singapore seeks a terrain research specialist to support policy planning and operational decision-making. You will conduct terrain-related research and develop products, and ensure knowledge management by integrating research outputs into planning tools used by operational planners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in research, terrain analysis, geospatial sciences, remote sensing or AI.
• Ability to produce tactical decision aids including LOS, trafficability, route analysis.
• Proficiency in GIS including ArcGIS and remote sensing products.
• Ability to apply and utilise AI tools and build related systems.
• Strong writing, briefing and communication under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Conduct terrain-related research and develop intelligence products for policy planning.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of terrain research outputs for knowledge management.
• Ensure seamless integration of terrain products with planning tools for operational planners.
• Collaborate with external agencies and SAF branches to support information collection.
• Participate in military exercises and deliver lectures/briefings on terrain research.
