Job description:

Position: Temp Care Companion

Department: Department of Geriatric Psychiatry

Job Description:

The Care Companion plays a crucial role in carrying out interventions and activities for elderly inpatients, helping them maintain their functional status during their hospital stay.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and engage patients for interventions/activities such as walking and light physical activities
  2. Train and supervise interventions/activities carried out by patients
  3. Work closely and collaboratively with nursing staff/allied health professionals in the implementation of ward-based programmes
  4. Assist in lifting and transferring of patients
  5. To complete documentation daily
  6. Any other assigned tasks by the Reporting Officer and Ward Supervisors
  7. Able to commit working till end of contract

Requirements:

Competency

  1. Conversant in English and a local language
  2. Proficiency in dialect will be an added advantage
  3. Basic proficiency in IT skills
  4. Highly motivated and service-oriented with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  5. Able to work independently and as a team
  6. Ambulant and physically fit

Educational and Professional Requirements

  1. Minimum GCE ‘N' or ‘O' Level
  2. Relevant working experience in a healthcare setting will be an added advantage
