Overall Role Purpose

The Telesales Executive will be supported by sales and marketing campaigns to actively drive sales revenue to achieve the sales target for an assigned group of customers.

  • Formulate and execute a personal sales plan that incorporates initiatives for identifying and gaining new business prospects and maximize growth within the existing Wholesales client base.
  • Manage revenue and shipment growth through up-selling and cross-selling tactics to exceed assigned targets.
  • Combine sales skills with DHL products and services knowledge and convert the maximum possible prospect leads into active customers, placing emphasis on those with maximum revenue and shipment potential in order to increase the size and quality of DHL's market share.
  • Continually strengthen knowledge on DHL's services and general commercial awareness in order to provide the best possible standard of customer service and maximize your contribution to the sales function.
  • Open new customer accounts and ensure they trade profitably.
  • Ensure all customer agreements are cost sensitive and adhere to regional standards on profit margins/ minimum pricing tariff, to govern business interest.
  • Provide justification and obtain management's agreement for any deviation from the set tariff.
  • Complete in a timely manner - daily and weekly reports to measure self and department's productivity and effectiveness through the use of DHL's in-house Sales Reporting Tool.
  • Ensure that customer information is maintained accurately in the customer database.
  • Ensure that all customer issues relating to customer service, service recovery and credit control are co-coordinated and managed through the relevant DHL department.
  • Apply best practices for selling into logistics industry sub sectors including Freight Forwarders, 3PL & 4PL companies.
  • Ensure that policy guidelines are communicated and coordinate checklist requirements in the area of global sales partner policy.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of sales experience.
  • Sales and results-oriented, proactive and possess a positive work attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Possess good spoken and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and IT Savvy.
  • Diploma or equivalent.
