Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Telecommunications Engineer to support and evolve our communication and digital infrastructure across all retail locations and digital platforms. This role combines traditional telecom engineering with web infrastructure support—ensuring high availability, performance, and security of both our internal telecom systems and our customer-facing retail website.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Telecommunications System Management
- Design, implement, and manage VoIP, PBX, SIP, and unified communication systems for retail stores and headquarters.
- Ensure reliable operation of telecom hardware (routers, switches, modems, gateways) and mobile communication platforms.
- Monitor call quality, uptime, and network performance across retail and support locations.
2. Website and Digital Infrastructure Support
- Collaborate with web developers and marketing teams to support the infrastructure behind the company’s retail website.
- Ensure hosting, domain management, SSL certificates, and CDN integration are properly configured and maintained.
- Monitor site availability, load speeds, and resolve connectivity or backend integration issues (e.g., with payment gateways or inventory systems).
- Implement and maintain failover and backup systems to ensure uptime of digital assets.
3. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for telecom and web-related system issues, including root cause analysis.
- Manage incident response for outages affecting phone systems, store connectivity, or e-commerce operations.
4. Security and Compliance
- Apply security best practices to telecom and web infrastructure to mitigate risks like toll fraud, DDoS attacks, or data breaches.
- Ensure all systems comply with relevant standards (PCI DSS, GDPR, etc.) for online and retail operations.
5. Vendor and Service Provider Coordination
- Manage relationships with telecom providers, web hosting companies, CDN providers, and domain registrars.
- Oversee SLAs, service contracts, renewals, and escalation processes.
6. Project Implementation
- Lead projects involving telecom upgrades, store rollouts, new system integrations, or website platform changes.
- Assist in the deployment of customer service tools, including chat, click-to-call, or online call center solutions.
7. Documentation and Training
- Maintain detailed documentation for telecom and web system configurations, access credentials, and network diagrams.
- Provide technical training and support to internal teams on using communication tools and web-based systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3–5 years’ experience in telecom/network engineering with additional exposure to web hosting or infrastructure support.
- Understanding of web hosting platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, cPanel), DNS, SSL, content delivery networks (CDNs), and basic web security.
- Experience with integrated retail systems (POS, CRM, e-commerce platforms) is highly desirable.
- Strong documentation, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid or on-site work depending on company policy.
- Occasional travel to store locations or data centers.
- On-call availability for critical infrastructure incidents.
