Job summary

Semco Maritime Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an experienced Telecom Engineer to contribute to global energy projects. You will join our Technology Solutions team and work within a dedicated Project Engineering department delivering telecom systems for EPC, oil & gas, and marine initiatives.

Responsibilities include designing, preparing drawings and procurement specifications, developing detailed diagrams and schematics, selecting equipment, coordinating with other disciplines, and guiding

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in telecom engineering, system integration, design or project engineering.
• Experience in TSI/ Telecom System Integration and EPC, Oil & Gas, Marine, Shipyard or Petrochemical projects preferred.
• Ability to lead a team of telecom engineers to meet project schedules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English.
• Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or IT is required.

• Design and development of telecom systems and equipment.
• Prepare drawings and specifications for procurement of equipment.
• Develop detailed system designs with diagrams and schematics; select telecom equipment.
• Develop bulk material listings and input for reports (weight, equipment list, etc.).
• Coordinate with other disciplines and participate in technical project meetings.

Job Description & Requirements

Assist the Project Manager / Lead Engineer in smooth running and implementation of the project

Main tasks/areas of responsibility

• Design
• Preparation of drawings
• Preparation of specifications for procurement of equipment
• Develop detailed system design with diagrams and schematics.
• Selection of telecom equipment
• Develop bulk material listings
• Provide input for preparation of selected reports, weight, equipment list,
• function and fabrication / installation
• Coordination with other disciplines
• Professional responsibility

Main principal duties

• Participate in all engineering phases:
• Feasibility
• Concept
• Feed
• Detailed
• Understand and interpret requirements from customers and authorities.
• Clarify design certification with customers and 3rd party.

Minor tasks/areas of responsibility

• Participation in customer visits and –contact
• Participation in technical project meetings

System Knowledge (Must have experience in at lease one of the following categories):

• Radio Communication Systems: GMDSS, Microwave Radio, SCADA Radio, Trunked Radio, Crane Radio, Radio Dispatch, Satellite Phone
• Security Systems: Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection, PABX (VoIP), Person On Board (POB)
• Navigation Aids: Radar, ECDIS, Auto Pilot, AIS, DGPS, LRIT, Compass, Echo Sounder, Speed Log, VDR, Navigation & Obstruction Lights, RACON, Fog Horn, BNWAS, VSAT, Entertainment System, EMS
• Wired Communication: PAGA, Page Party, Talk Back, Smart Series, Driller, PABX (Analog), Sound-Powered Phone System

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or IT is required

Experience/Personal Qualities

• Relevant Experience in telecom engineering, system integration, design or project engineering.
• Experience in TSI/ Telecom System Integration is highly preferred/ Experience in EPC, Oil & Gas, Marine, Shipyard, Petrochemical, Power or other industrial projects is strongly preferred.
• Candidates with strong transferable telecom engineering experience across engineering, installation, testing and commissioning will be an advantage.
• Able to lead a team of telecom engineer/junior telecom engineer to meet various project schedule, customer expectation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Team player with a positive and proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and spoken English).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
