Job Description:

A Food and Drink Technologist is responsible for researching, developing, and improving food and beverage products and manufacturing processes. This role involves ensuring product safety, quality, nutritional value, and compliance with food regulations. Technologists work closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, quality assurance, marketing, and production.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Development:
    Develop new food and beverage products from concept to launch.
    Modify existing recipes to improve taste, shelf life, nutrition, or cost-efficiency.
  • Research & Innovation:
    Conduct trials, experiments, and pilot runs to test formulations and production methods.
    Investigate emerging food technologies and market trends.
  • Quality and Safety Assurance:
    Ensure all products meet food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
    Collaborate with quality control teams to address production or ingredient issues.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure labels, ingredients, and packaging comply with local and international regulations (e.g., FDA, EFSA, FSA).
  • Collaboration:
    Work with suppliers, production staff, and marketing teams to coordinate project timelines and deliverables.
  • Documentation:
    Maintain records of formulations, test results, and processes.
    Prepare technical reports and product specifications.
