TECHNICIAN (WSCC SCADA MAINTENANCE)

About the Position

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Technician to support the preventive and corrective maintenance of SCADA systems and associated equipment at Water Supply Control (WSC) sites. In this role, you will execute routine checks on servers, workstations, RTUs/PLCs, networks, radios, and field instruments, ensuring reliability and compliance with safety standards. You will respond to alarms and incidents within SLA, perform diagnostics and repairs, liaise with telco providers, and document all work through CMMS and site reports. This position requires strong technical skills in panel maintenance, wiring, and communication protocols, as well as strict adherence to WSH Act and SS 638 safety practices. A proactive approach, disciplined documentation, and teamwork mindset are essential, alongside readiness to support outdoor operations, after-hours maintenance, and 24/7 standby duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute PM checklists on SCADA servers/workstations/thin clients, RTU/PLC panels, UPS, network switches, radios/routers, and field instruments
• Inspect panels, tighten connections, tidy cabling, replace fans/filters/batteries as needed
• Respond to alarms/incidents within SLA
• Diagnose using HMI trends, event logs, ping/port tests, multi-meter/loop calibrator; replace/repair faulty modules, PSUs, I/O cards, radios, or NICs
• Coordinate with telco for leased-line/ONT issues; capture fault evidence and escalate appropriately
• Record work in CMMS: PM results, parts used, fault cause/fix, photos
• Update as-built wiring, network diagrams, and device inventories; submit clear site reports and handover notes
• Adhere to WSH Act, SS 638 electrical safety, LOTO, Work-At-Height, and confined space requirements
• Conduct Toolbox briefings, use PPE properly, and stop-work/report hazards and near-misses
• Track and request spare; manage RMA and calibrations
• Keep workshops, vehicles, and panels neat; maintain tool calibration and serviceability

Qualifications

• Minimally Nitec in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Control & Instrumentation
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in maintenance of PLC/RTU/SCADA or industrial electrical panels

Technical Skills

• Read single-line diagrams, P&IDs and wiring schematics
• Hands-on with 24 VDC panels, 4-20mA signals, DI/DO, basic PLC/RTU hardware
• Basic knowledge about Modbus, DNP3 communication protocol
• Use of multi-meter insulation tester, loop calibrator, crimp/termination tools, handheld network/fibre tester
• Class 3/3A driving license
