Job Duties
  • Under general supervision, participates in planning and conducts sample preparation and laboratory testing on metallic, non-metallic, and/or welding materials and components.
  • Applies working knowledge of test procedures and techniques. Debugs test setups and troubleshoots tools and equipment.
  • Documents test procedures, data, observations, and results.
  • Applies working knowledge of metallic, non-metallic, and/or welding materials and processes, and their application to components.
  • Applies working knowledge of materials or welding quality control inspection techniques, mechanical test equipment, and test instrumentation.
  • Aquires parts for prototypes, solicits from and provides help to manufacturing as necessary, and assists in release of new materials and processes into production.
  • Assists in handling materials or welding related field problems to maintain and improve products and services.
  • Occasionally travels to off-site locations to assist on materials or welding issues. Incorporates Reliability, HSE, Quality analysis, and Project Management techniques in all job processes.
  • Job tasks, performed correctly, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.

Requirement:

Skills are typically acquired through the completion fo an Associate's degree in a field of science and 3 years of related experience or through 5 years of related work experience.
