Job summary

A wildlife conservation organization in Singapore is looking for a Maintenance Technician to manage and maintain water treatment systems in parks. The ideal candidate will have an NTC3 in mechanical engineering and at least 1-2 years of relevant experience. Strong communication and people management skills are a plus. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining filtration systems, conducting water quality tests, and ensuring safe storage of chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct water quality testing and treatment to ensure high water quality.

Job description

Mandai Wildlife Group is the steward of Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a unique wildlife and nature destination in Singapore that is home to world-renown wildlife parks which connect visitors to the fascinating world of wildlife. The Group is driving an exciting rejuvenation plan at Mandai Wildlife Reserve, adjacent to Singapore’s Central Catchment Nature Reserve, that will integrate five wildlife parks with distinctive nature-based experiences, green public spaces and an eco-friendly resort.

Job Responsibilities
  • To carry out strainer cleaning, pool vacuuming, filter backwashing and other preventive maintenance work for all filtration systems in the parks.
  • To carry out cleaning of water features and streams. Checking and maintenance of pumps and pump pits.
  • To operate and maintain industrial water treatment plant.
  • To maintain safe storage of water treatment chemicals and equipment.
  • Daily inspection and maintenance of portable water system and raw water system.
  • Routine checking of pumping stations and circulating systems in the parks.
  • To monitor water consumption for any irregularities via water monitoring platform. To report to AM, SM, and AVP on irregularities.
  • To conduct water quality testing and treatment to ensure high water quality for underwater viewing exhibits, play pools, etc.
Job Requirements
  • NTC3 in mechanical engineering or equivalent
