A leading facility management company in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Technician to assist in the execution of District Cooling Plants' operations. The ideal candidate has a Higher NITEC/NITEC qualification and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include supervising contractors, maintaining safety standards, and carrying out plant inspections. This role involves shift work with competitive remuneration and growth opportunities.
Contract Duration: 1 year (renewable)
Location: Science Park
Working Hours: Shift hours: alternate weeks of morning and evening shift, Morning shift: 7am to 4.30pm, Evening shift: 1.30pm to 11pm
Our client is the sole electrical grid and gas grid operator in the country, and provides electricity and gas transmission, distribution services, and market support services to more than a million households in Singapore.
Responsibilities:
· Assist in the execution of District Cooling Plants' Operations & Maintenance works
· Attend daily toolbox and work meeting conducted by Engineer and Supervisor.
· Plan, schedule, execute and supervise contractors on the daily routine and non-routine O&M works and troubleshooting, as assigned
· Carry out daily walk-through plant inspection.
· Upkeep maintenance records, work area and tools
· Assist the Engineers in the sourcing and purchasing of spare parts
· Promptly investigate and report equipment defects, deficiencies, and abnormalities
· Supervise and report contractor performance, ensuring quality work and adherence to contract specifications.
· May be assigned to support district cooling works at other project locations after necessary trainings and to work independently where required (e.g. 1 staff per shift)
· Any assignment/activity/work tasked by the management.
Requirements:
· Higher NITEC / NITEC in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Plumbing/ Refrigeration from a recognized educational institute
· Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Facility Management / Chiller Operation & Maintenance / Plant process management.
· Good analytical and communication skills with positive attitude
· Able to perform normal and/or shift duties – 8 hour shift or other shift pattern as per project requirement
· Experience in troubleshooting plant equipment and implementing preventive maintenance strategies.
· Knowledge of district cooling systems and chiller operations.
· Familiarity with safety regulations, risk assessments and ISO standards.
