Job description

Job Description:

This position is responsible for performing precision soldering and rework of electronic assemblies, with a secondary focus on radio frequency (RF) testing. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional soldering skills, particularly with small components in dense PCB assemblies, and preferably have a basic understanding of RF testing procedures. This role involves 75% hands-on soldering and rework and 25% time on radio modules testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Soldering & Rework (70% of time):Perform high-precision soldering and rework of surface mount (SMT) components, with a focus on 0201 and other very small components.
    Rework dense PCB assemblies, including replacing components and repairing damaged traces.
    QFN and BGA Rework skills.
    Solder components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) according to technical drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
    Use a microscope and specialized soldering equipment to perform fine-pitch soldering.
    Prepare components and PCBs for soldering, including cleaning, tinning, and applying flux.
    Inspect soldered joints for quality and conformance to IPC-A-610 standards.
    Maintain soldering equipment and workstations.
    Follow ESD control measures.
  • Assembly & Testing (30% of time):Perform troubleshooting work with RF related products down to PCBA level.
    Conduct box build and sub-assembly functional testing.
    Assembly and rework of PCBAs with SMT components.
    Perform final assembly of electronic devices from sub-components.
    Build packaging for finished products.
    Setup and maintain test stations to ensure quality production.
    Assist engineers in building and testing prototypes, new products, processes, or procedures.
    Plan and lay out work to meet production and schedule requirements.
    Prepare production documents, such as standard operating procedures, manufacturing batch records, inventory reports, or productivity reports.
  • Other Responsibilities:Document work performed and maintained accurate records.
    Collaborate with engineers and other technicians.
    Follow safety procedures.
    Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements:

  • NTC/ITE in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Preferred.
  • Basic electronics, digital and components knowledge background.
  • At least 2 years of electronics manufacturing experience.
  • Proficiency in hand soldering techniques, including SMT.
  • Hand soldering skills with 0201 size components, QFN and BGA components and to rework PCB.
  • Ability to use a microscope for fine-pitch soldering.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Familiarity with soldering equipment.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in reading circuit schematic diagram.
  • Able to commence work immediately or within short notice.
  • Working experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:Certification in soldering (e.g., IPC J-STD-001).
    Knowledge of electronic components.
