Job description

  • Execute job assignments using appropriate service tools with precision and care.
  • Oversee the installation of electrical components, such as switches, sensors, transmitters, alternator parts, and control panels.
  • Assist in assembling and disassembling key engine components, including oil pumps, water pumps, and cylinder heads, with experience in engine overhauls preferred.
  • Conduct the installation and adjustment of engine fuel injectors, timing, and valve lash.
  • Support and perform the mechanical installation of radiators, engines, alternators, gearboxes, and related piping and couplings.
  • Align equipment, such as radiator assemblies, engines, and alternators, ensuring proper setup and operation.
  • Prepare generators for load testing and carry out required safety and diagnostic tests while recording necessary parameters.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain knowledge of engine and alternator systems, hydraulic steering systems, and marine gearboxes for issue resolution.

Requirements:

  • Possess an ITE qualification or equivalent certification in a related field.
  • 2 years of hands-on experience in heavy-duty diesel or automotive mechanics, with marine or offshore exposure preferred.
  • Prior apprenticeship with a recognized engine-related organization will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and knowledge of programmable logic controls will be beneficial.
