Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to different laboratory clusters as required, ensuring smooth operations and coverage for technical duties

  • Prepare materials, equipment and laboratory support for classes, workshops, and events.

  • Responsible for the upkeep of laboratories, including equipment preparation, maintenance and housekeeping of laboratory

  • Assist lecturers with demonstrations and conduct trial runs for practical classes.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting in the event of an equipment fault and follow up with respective cluster to arrange for repairs/servicing

  • Receive goods, check and endorse delivery orders (DOs), and send acknowledgment emails to the respective requestors

  • Assist clusters in chemical and biohazard waste disposal with the Central Service team

  • Assist in carrying out annual stock take of assets

  • Provide support during WSH and QEHS audits and inspections, and ensure all laboratories are compliant with QEHS and WSH guidelines

  • Perform administrative duties such as processing lab requests and procurement of lab equipment and consumables

Requirements:

  • Higher NITEC/ Diploma in Applied Chemistry/Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering/Chemical Engineering/Chemical Process Technology/Material Science

  • Equipped with analytical instrument and chemistry knowledge

  • Fresh graduates or candidates with at least one year of laboratory technician experience are welcome

  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels

  • Willingness to work in a flexible manner, including supporting various lab clusters where required
