Job summary

Caliber8 Recruitment is seeking a Marine/Mechanical Engineer with offshore experience to join a Singapore-based project team. The role focuses on supporting the Technical Department by documenting and trading certificates for vessels and coordinating across disciplines.

Key duties include ensuring compliance with specifications, budgeting, coordinating meetings, evaluating shipyard proposals, and preparing execution plans for tenders to win projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience offshore preferred on FPSO or engineering firm is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communication between disciplines to ensure efficient project tasks.
  • Verify compliance with specifications and industry standards to maintain quality and safety.
  • Analyze project specifications, scope of work, and scope of supply to inform planning.
  • Confirm timely arrival and accuracy of resources to support uninterrupted construction.
  • Provide support to Technical staff in managing vessel maintenance and NCR closure.
  • Monitor and report on project budgets to track costs.
  • Evaluate shipyard proposals and process shipyard invoices after project completion.
  • Prepare detailed reports on outyard activities for management review.
  • Participate in client and production meetings to align objectives and resolve issues.
  • Identify and track project variations and coordinate follow-up with Commercial teams.
  • Monitor progress of disciplines to meet milestones and address delays.
  • Develop and submit Project Execution Plans for tenders to support acquisitions.

Job description

Are you and Marine/Mechnical Engineer with prior experience as a Technical/Project Engineer offshore preferably on FPSO or Engineering firm?

This is an excellent opportunity to join an asset owner in their latest Project.

Main responsibility is to provide support to the Technical Department by managing the documentation and trading certificate for the vessels.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate communication and collaboration between disciplines and departments to ensure efficient execution of project tasks
  • Verify project compliance with required specifications and industry standards to maintain quality and safety
  • Analyze project specifications, scope of work, and scope of supply to inform planning and execution
  • Confirm timely arrival and accuracy of resources according to orders and requests to support uninterrupted construction
  • Provide support to Technical superintendents in managing of vessels Planned Maintenance System. Actively involved in closing out non conformance reports (NCR) pertaining to the Technical department.
  • Monitor and update project budgets to track financial performance and control costs
  • Evaluate proposals from shipyards and propose comprehensive specification to shipyards. Process shipyard invoices after completion of project.
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on outyard activities to update management on project progress
  • Participate in Client and Production meetings alongside Project Managers to align project objectives and resolve issues
  • Identify and track potential project variations and coordinate follow-up actions with Commercial teams
  • Monitor progress of individual disciplines to ensure milestones are met and address delays proactively
  • Develop and submit Project Execution Plans for tender submissions to support project acquisition efforts
Required competencies and certifications
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Prior sailing experience on board oil tankers is an advantage but not mandatory
  • Prior experience in an Engineering firm will be preferred
