We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Technical Support Engineer to join our team in the Offshore & Hydraulics Industry. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and support to our clients and sales teams, ensuring that our clients receive tailored solutions for their offshore and hydraulic needs. This role involves providing pre‑sales and post‑sales technical support, assisting with product recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction through expert advice on product specifications, applications, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to the sales team by analysing customer needs and proposing appropriate design concepts of offshore handling products (electrical or electrical‑hydraulic driven) and their layout solutions.
  • Customer Consultation: Engage with potential and existing customers to understand their technical requirements, offering product specifications, applications, and system integration.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain in‑depth knowledge of the company’s range of products & systems, offshore equipment, and technologies. Stay up-to-date with new developments and product offerings in the offshore sector.
  • Proposal Preparation: Assist in preparing technical proposals, including product specifications, quotes, and project timelines, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
  • Technical Presentations: Participate in customer meetings, product presentations, and technical discussions to explain product features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem‑Solving: Provide troubleshooting support during both pre‑sales and post‑sales phases, addressing technical issues, and ensuring that products function as expected in offshore environments.
  • Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Collaborate with engineering, project and fabrication teams to create customized solutions for clients, ensuring all specifications and performance requirements are met.
  • Bridging all teams: Bridge all relevant teams at the start of each new project to ensure that no gap among the teams on their understanding of product/system/solution specifications accepted by the client.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including product datasheets, product specifications and proposed arrangement.
  • Market Analysis: Support the sales team with market research and competitor analysis, helping to identify emerging trends and opportunities within the offshore and hydraulics industry.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Hydraulics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical support, mechanical/machine design or mechanical engineering roles in the offshore, hydraulics, or related industries.
  • Hydraulics Knowledge: Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, offshore equipment, and machinery used in the offshore industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience in OEM component selection, application design, and technical problem‑solving in an equipment design context.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Customer‑Focused: Ability to build strong relationships with customers by providing tailored technical solutions and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Technical Support: Ability to support the sales team with technical knowledge, sales presentations, and proposal preparation.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with CRM software, CAD systems (Autocad 2D drafting skills and inventor 3D modelling skills are preferred), and other engineering tools for technical documentation and product design.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in hydraulics systems or offshore engineering (e.g., certifications from ISO, API, or other industry bodies) would be advantageous.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to customer sites, offshore locations, and industry events as required.
  • Desired Attributes: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
