We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Technical Sales Support Engineer to join our team in the Offshore & Hydraulics Industry. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise and support to the sales team, ensuring that our clients receive tailored solutions for their offshore and hydraulic needs. This role involves providing pre-sales and post-sales technical support, assisting with product recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction through expert advice on product specifications, applications, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Sales Support: Provide technical assistance to the sales team by analyzing customer needs and recommending appropriate offshore and hydraulic products and solutions.
  • Customer Consultation: Engage with potential and existing customers to understand their technical requirements, offering guidance on product specifications, applications, and system integration.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s hydraulic systems, offshore equipment, and technologies. Stay up-to-date with new developments and product offerings in the offshore and hydraulics sector.
  • Proposal Preparation: Assist in preparing technical proposals, including product specifications, quotes, and project timelines, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
  • Sales Presentations: Participate in customer meetings, product presentations, and technical discussions to explain product features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Provide troubleshooting support during both pre-sales and post-sales phases, addressing technical issues, and ensuring that products function as expected in offshore environments.
  • Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to create customized solutions for clients, ensuring all specifications and performance requirements are met.
  • Customer Training: Offer technical training sessions to clients and internal sales teams to improve product knowledge and usage.
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, and product datasheets.
  • Market Analysis: Support the sales team with market research and competitor analysis, helping to identify emerging trends and opportunities within the offshore and hydraulics industry.
  • After-Sales Support: Provide ongoing technical support to clients post-sale, assisting with installations, troubleshooting, and upgrades.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Hydraulics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical sales support or engineering roles in the offshore, hydraulics, or related industries.
  • Hydraulics Knowledge: Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, offshore equipment, and machinery used in the offshore industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience in product selection, application design, and technical problem-solving in a sales context.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Customer-Focused: Ability to build strong relationships with customers by providing tailored technical solutions and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Sales Support: Ability to support the sales team with technical knowledge, sales presentations, and proposal preparation.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with CRM software, CAD systems, and other engineering tools for technical documentation and product design.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in hydraulics systems or offshore engineering (e.g., certifications from ISO, API, or other industry bodies) would be advantageous.
  • Travel Requirements: Ability to travel to customer sites, offshore locations, and industry events as required.
