Job description

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the Plant Chemist in the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the laboratory

• Conduct daily joint sampling with PUB and third-party accredited lab

• Maintain laboratory operation (such as testing of samples, preparation of reagents, calibration of equipment, data entry) in a timely and accurate manner

• Operate Ion chromatography

• Supervise chemical receiving to ensure safe and correct unloading

• Monitor and ensure water and chemical quality and safety

• Maintain chemical and reagent inventory

• Support the O&M team for its production targets

• Attend to water quality issues and water quality analysers issues together with operation team

• Inform O&M team any deviations in water quality between lab test results and online readings

• Liaise with PUB WQD officers on matters related to product water quality and safety

• Adhere to testing methods, SOPs and HSE requirements during work

• Participate as member of Water Safety team and Chemical Safety team

• Accept any ad hoc assignment and extra responsibilities given by Superior to support smooth and stable operation for the Plant

• Implement and comply with the relevant WSH legal requirements, safety management system, safety rules and regulations for the work activities

• Responsible to conduct work in a safe manner, be conscious and avoid unsafe behaviour

• Comply and implement safe work procedures and risk assessment

• Identify, report incorrectness and review with supervisor to take actions to eliminate risk and hazards at work

• Ensure competency in the WSH and other competency needs to work safely and avoid performing works without being trained

• Participate in workplace safety inspection and update implementations of the action items

• Participate in incident investigation, lesson learnt and ensure corrective measures are implemented

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma in Chemistry, Chemical/ Environment Engineering or equivalent

• Knowledge & experience in water analysis, laboratory management, chemical management and water treatment process will be advantageous

• Possess good communication skills

This position will be based in Jurong Island, company transport is provided at Choa Chu Kang/ Jurong East MRT station.
