Job summary

HITACHI SUNWAY INFORMATION SYSTEMS (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced SAP Project Lead to drive end-to-end SAP delivery across multiple regions. You will manage teams, coordinate with clients, and ensure successful project outcomes within scope, schedule, and budget.

The role requires deep SAP expertise, data migration experience, and strong leadership. Travel to client sites will be necessary to deliver high-quality SAP solutions and continuous improvement across delivery processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years in SAP implementation, maintenance, or support.
  • Experience as technical lead or project manager.
  • Experience managing local and offshore technical teams.
  • Strong SAP development, system design, testing, and implementation.
  • Willingness to travel for project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead SAP projects to deliver within scope, time, budget, and quality.
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resources, milestones, and priorities.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into SAP solutions and designs.
  • Oversee SAP design, development, configuration, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Provide technical guidance on SAP development, integration, and cloud matters.
  • Lead SAP data migration activities and validation.
  • Ensure deliverables meet requirements and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with regional/global teams for execution.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders; promote SAP delivery improvements.

Job description

Responsibilities
A. Project and Technical Delivery
  • 1. Lead SAP implementation, enhancement, maintenance, and support projects to ensure successful delivery within the agreed scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards.
  • 2. Develop and manage project plans, schedules, resources, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and priorities.
  • 3. Gather and analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into appropriate SAP solutions and system designs.
  • 4. Oversee SAP solution design, development, configuration, enhancement, testing, deployment, and post-implementation support activities.
  • 5. Provide technical guidance and direction to project teams on SAP development, integration, system design, testing, implementation, security, and cloud-related matters.
  • 6. Lead SAP data migration activities, including migration planning, data mapping, cleansing, validation, testing, task allocation, deliverable review, and progress monitoring.
  • 7. Ensure that all technical deliverables meet the agreed business requirements, technical standards, security requirements, and quality expectations.
B. Team Management
  • 8. Manage local and offshore technical teams and ensure effective resource allocation, utilisation, collaboration, and project execution.
  • 9. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and monitor progress against agreed deliverables and timelines.
  • 10. Coach and mentor team members to strengthen their SAP technical capabilities, project management skills, and overall delivery performance.
C. Project Governance and Stakeholder Management
  • 11. Support PMO and project governance activities by monitoring project status, risks, issues, dependencies, action items, and key deliverables.
  • 12. Identify, assess, and resolve technical and project-related issues in collaboration with internal teams, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • 13. Prepare and present project updates, technical recommendations, risk assessments, and escalation reports to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • 14. Coordinate with regional and global project teams across different countries to facilitate effective communication and project execution.
D. Client Engagement and Pre-Sales Support
  • 15. Work closely with clients to understand their business processes, clarify requirements, manage expectations, and recommend practical technical solutions.
  • 16. Conduct project meetings, requirements workshops, technical discussions, and escalation management with Japan-based clients and stakeholders in Japanese.
  • 17. Support proposal and pre-sales activities by analysing customer requirements, assessing technical feasibility, defining solution approaches, estimating resources and effort, and preparing technical documentation.
  • 18. Act as a liaison among sales, business, project, and technical teams to ensure that proposed solutions are technically feasible and aligned with customer requirements.
  • 19. Promote continuous improvement in SAP delivery processes, project management practices, technical capabilities, documentation standards, and team performance.
  • 20. Perform other duties and ad hoc assignments as required by management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum seven years of relevant experience in SAP implementation, enhancement, maintenance, or support, including experience in a technical lead or project management capacity.
  • Proven experience in SAP implementation, maintenance, and support.
  • Experience in SAP project management, data migration, and/or PMO activities.
  • Demonstrated experience managing local and offshore technical teams in a multinational environment.
  • Strong understanding of SAP development, system design, testing, and implementation processes.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with multinational, cross-functional, and cross-cultural teams.
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English for communication with Singapore-based and regional project teams.
  • Familiarity with Japanese business etiquette and cultural norms.
  • Proficiency in Security and Cloud technologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to travel when required for project delivery and client engagements.
