Job summary

SCIENTE in Singapore seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable software in an Agile environment. The candidate will provide technical leadership, mentor teams, and drive high-quality delivery.

The role covers frontend and backend work, API design, microservices, and DevSecOps practices, with emphasis on secure coding, CI/CD, and effective stakeholder collaboration. Candidates should excel in system design and mentoring across multiple workstreams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• 3+ years of technical leadership in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java, C#, or TypeScript (Angular/React/Next.js).
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, OOP, and secure coding practices.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Git, and automated testing.
• Experience with MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle databases.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
• Strong system design, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and mentoring abilities.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, IaC, and DevSecOps.
• Experience with performance, reliability, and benchmarking.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable software solutions.
• Deliver high-quality features aligned with Agile sprint goals.
• Develop front-end, backend services, APIs, and microservices.
• Lead technical design, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
• Collaborate with architects, product teams, QA, and DevOps engineers.
• Analyze existing systems and recommend scalable technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across workstreams.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and production issues.
• Estimate technical effort, manage risks, and support timely delivery.
• Promote continuous improvement in quality, security, and maintainability.
