For this position, the appointee will be part of the lab management team that supports the smooth functioning of the school’s labs and to provide support to academic staff in teaching as well as supervising/guiding students in their project works whilst ensuring safety regulations are followed. Besides lab management, the appointee also has the opportunity to provide administrative and technical support to ensure smooth operation of key functional and/or project works related to the various initiatives carried out by the school.

[What you will be working on]

Responsibilities:-

  • Support the smooth functioning of the school’s labs and assisting/conducting of lab experiments for both PET and CET courses.
  • Provide support to academic staff in teaching as well as supervising/guiding students in their project works whilst ensuring safety regulations are followed.
  • Undertake project/consultancy work with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage stock inventory and acquire all resources necessary for the laboratories and yearly budgeting for teaching material and equipment maintenance.
  • To liaise with vendors and evaluate quotations from suppliers for purchasing materials and lab equipment
  • To support and assist to troubleshoot electrical/electronic circuit and effect minor repairs of faulty equipment of the lab facilities where necessary
  • To housekeep lab facilities by carrying out regular lab maintenance and ensure the safety of the labs according to safety guidelines.
  • To provide support which include coordination, consultation with various stakeholders, follow-up and implementation in school functional and/or project work.


[What we are looking for]

General Requirements:-

  • Tertiary qualification in Electronic/Computer Engineering, or equivalent qualification in a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years' hands-on experience working on Engineering projects.
  • Candidates with at least 2 years of relevant working experience in one of the areas below would have an added advantage:
  • Assembly & Test
  • Semiconductor Technology
  • Self-driven, possess good interpersonal skills, willing to learn on the job and be a team player.


Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
