Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Singapore is seeking a Purchasing professional to join a dynamic team. The role involves collaborating with management to ensure timely procurement of spare parts, logistics coordination, and maintaining purchasing documentation. Ideal candidates will possess a diploma and 2 to 3 years of experience in the Shipping or Marine Repair industry. This position supports operational efficiency and contributes to the seamless supply of essential parts and services.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably within the Shipping or Marine Repair industry.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Managers to ensure timely procurement of spare parts.
  • Oversee purchasing processes and coordinate logistics.
  • Maintain the Tally Accounting system and issue purchase orders.
  • Communicate with vessels for requisition details.
  • Follow up with suppliers on quotations.
  • Assist with logistics arrangements for transportation.
  • Handle documentation duties such as filing and verifying vendor costs.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Managers and Superintendents to ensure timely procurement of technical spare parts, vessel repairs, and annual maintenance.
  • Oversee purchasing processes and coordinate logistics to ensure spare parts reach vessels efficiently.
  • Maintain the Tally Accounting system and issue purchase orders to vendors.
  • Send enquiries and requisitions to suppliers for owner-approved asset purchases and other required items.
  • Communicate with vessels to collect necessary details for requisitions.
  • Follow up with suppliers on quotations and prepare relevant documents such as purchase orders, delivery orders, proforma invoices, and packing lists.
  • Assist with logistics arrangements, including air, sea, and land transportation.
  • Coordinate with agents and vessels to facilitate the supply of spare parts and repair services at appropriate ports.
  • Handle documentation duties, including filing, printing, and verifying vendor costs.
  • Obtain client approvals for additional charges and forward information to accounts for invoicing completed jobs.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by Managers, Superintendents, or Line Managers.
Qualifications
