A leading company in the Marine and Oil & Gas sector is seeking a mechanical or instrumentation engineer to support various functions within the Engineering Department. You will assist project orders, manage technical documentation, provide engineering solutions, and support customer after-sales inquiries. Job Summary:
To support the Engineering Department functions, include verification of products as per the design drawings & specification. Establish and illustrate Factory Acceptance Test Procedures of final product. Liaise with customers for resolving aftermarket technical issues. Assist and support the Sales, Procurement, Project and Production Department on a case by case basis.
Responsibilities:
- To assist engineering supervisor in the review of project orders relevant specification and/or data sheets
- Act as secondary check and make recommendation based on common industrial engineering practice, where necessary
- To aid supervisor in providing and implementing cost effective and best engineering solutions for project in order to stay competitive
- To support sales, project and production team on various aspects of technical/engineering matters
- To prepare and maintain accurate engineering documents, i.e. general assembly drawing with BOM, control schematic drawing, test procedure, data sheet and engineering library
- Manage engineering change function and ensure engineering documents are updated accordingly
- To support and assist engineering supervisor in providing sound engineering practice and engineering calculation where applicable in a timely manner top meet project timeline
- Providing field support for the customers to resolve after sales / any technical issues
- Travel along with Technicians to installation base and sites if situation arises
- To act as the main administrator and to maintain the SAP item master data
- To assist engineering supervisor and manager to drive the department’s improvement programs and/or process efficiency initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree / Diploma in Mechanical/Instrumentation or equivalent
- 1-2 years working experience in either Marine, Oil & Gas or Automation industry is preferred
- Possess knowledge in instrumentation & control system, pneumatic & hydraulic system.
- Able to read and interpret Drawings, Specifications and Technical documents
- Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D/3D, Autodesk or drafting software & SAP will be added advantage
