Job summary

A leading engineering practice in Singapore is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support a strong project pipeline in the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing mechanical designs, leading teams, and ensuring technical compliance. This role requires substantial experience and strong communication and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• At least 12 years of professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• Professional Engineer status is advantageous.
• Experience in leading design for data centers is a plus.

• Prepare and Review mechanical tender packages including specifications and drawings.
• Lead a group of mechanical engineers on large scale projects.
• Responsible for ensuring familiarity with current practices and engineering trends.

Job description

A well-established engineering practice with a global footprint is looking to make a strategic hire to support a strong pipeline of projects in Singapore and in SEA.

Over the years, this engineering practice has managed to demonstrate their extensive expertise in buildings engineering projects including the design and delivery of mission critical facilities around the world.

Duties:

• Prepare and Review mechanical tender packages including specifications and drawings
• Implementing the design checklist and tracking progress
• Review of the design of mechanical system for technical compliance with specified and contracted client/customer requirement
• Tendering and estimating of mechanical works for projects
• Responsible for ensuring to remain familiar with current practices and engineering trends within the industry and to remain technically competent
• Lead a group of mechanical engineers on a large scale project during all phases

Prerequisites

• A Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Singapore "Professional Engineer" status would be an advantage
• Chartership status is required for international applicants
• At least 12 years of professional experience as an Mechanical Engineer
• Experience in leading the design data centres will be an advantage
• Strong technical understanding ACMV, plumbing mechanical systems
• Highly proficient in communication and negotiation skills
• Experience of dealing directly with clients is preferred
