Job description

Role Summary

  • The Group Technical Director will lead BRC’s global technical team and strategy across product engineering (metallurgy and mechanical engineering), quality and supplier development. This role is critical in evolving BRC into a full-service, technology-driven steel industry supplier. The Director will be responsible for advancing technical excellence, supporting key customer accounts, and ensuring operational execution aligns with long-term strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the group’s technical vision, ensuring alignment with corporate development, commercial and operations goals
  • Provide expert guidance to the technical team and key customers on complex technical projects and challenges
  • Oversee technical due diligence for core and new suppliers and strategic projects
  • Own group-wide quality governance and continuous improvement processes
  • Partner with Commercial and Supply Chain teams to support project bidding, technical marketing, and supplier development
  • Build and mentor a strong technical team across regions, instilling a performance-driven, collaborative and innovative culture
  • Represent BRC in strategic forums and customer/supplier meetings as the senior technical authority

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably in steel or castings sectors.
  • Strong track record in technical strategy, product innovation, and engineering leadership.
  • Deep expertise in metallurgy, casting, fabrication, and quality systems (ISO, API, etc.).
  • Experienced in supplier development, technical due diligence, and continuous improvement.
  • Skilled in technical marketing, customer support, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Confident in representing BRC in executive-level engagements and international forums.
  • Willing to travel globally.
