Technical Development Executive (Junior / Senior)

Full-time

  • Compensation: SGD 4500 - SGD 6000 - monthly

Responsibilities
  • Develop and validate new testing methods for air, water, and soil matrices based on regulatory or client requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain method validation reports, SOPs, and technical documentation.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies or instrumentation (e.g., GC-MS, ICP-MS).
  • Optimize existing testing methods to improve turnaround time, accuracy, and cost-efficiency.
  • Lead feasibility studies for new services or analytes.
  • Ensure technical compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and relevant national/international environmental standards.
  • Work closely with QA/QC teams to support internal audits, external assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate technical records and validation documentation.
  • Provide second-level technical support to analysts on difficult or non-routine samples.
  • Investigate and resolve complex testing deviations or client complaints.
  • Interpret data for complex matrices and non-standard testing requests.
  • Train lab staff on new methods, instrumentation, and technical protocols.
  • Coordinate technical handovers to operations team after successful method implementation.
  • Liaise with commercial teams to assess client requirements and support business proposals with technical input.
  • Collaborate with instrument vendors, reagent suppliers, and external labs where needed.
  • Prepare technical evaluation reports, performance trend analysis, and summary reports for management.
  • Support strategic planning by identifying gaps in service capability and proposing improvements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in an environmental testing lab or related field (depending on seniority).
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, and method validation principles.
  • Hands-on experience with instruments such as GC-MS, ICP-MS, TOC analyzer.
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Able to manage multiple projects with cross-functional teams.
