Job description

Assist & coordinate with the Environmental Compliance General Manager (ECM) in monitoring vessel adherence to statutory requirements and company policies related to environmental management. This includes collecting, verifying, and submitting documentation via the ABS Portal, as well as retrieving and uploading emission reports.

Maintain records, monitor, analyze data, and provide technical assistance on environmental indicators such as air and water pollution, and plastic waste.

Brief and train the ship’s Senior Officers on environmental sustainability, rules, and regulations through face-to-face presentations.

Identify opportunities for systematic improvement in Environmental Management Systems and collaborate with class societies and authorities to ensure compliance.

Register vessels with Hawaii Department of Health VGP e-permit and VGP eNOI, including laboratory testing results for ballast water treatment, gray water, bilge, and exhaust gas scrubbers.

Coordinate with the Fleet Director/Fleet Manager regarding client budget requirements, including converting AESM formats to the owner’s format.

Assist owners with sustainability data requirements such as Clean Ships Index, Environmental Ships Index, GHG, and ESG metrics.

Develop annual budgets in collaboration with relevant departments, ensuring alignment with company goals and strategies.

Coordinate with technical, operations, and ECD teams to meet charterer and owner needs, including preparing Monitoring Plans for Fuel EU regulation compliance.

Support the ESG Manager in environmental sustainability projects, including feasibility studies on facilities, subscriptions, suppliers, and renewable energy initiatives for ROI benefits.

Participate in quarterly Environmental Group Meetings, evaluate new regulation impacts, and collaborate with departments to implement operational changes for compliance.

Job Requirements
